Like many of the warehouses in Gloucester’s historic Docks, Herbert Warehouse is a Grade II listed building.
It was named after Samuel Herbert, a local solicitor, who leased the building to the corn merchants Joseph & Charles Sturge.
This red brick, Victorian building was linked to the adjacent Kimberley & Phillpotts warehouses in the 1980's to become, along with the nearby North Warehouse, the headquarters of Gloucester City Council, leading the way to regenerating what was then a derelict area.
